Erika joined the Private Capital team in Leeds, as an Associate, in September 2019 with a view to strengthening the firm's offering in the Leeds and Yorkshire area.
Erika qualified as a solicitor over 25 years ago, initially as a litigator and retrained into private client in 2010. She became a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners in 2012, having obtained a distinction in the STEP Diploma.
Erika brings to the team a diverse range of skills, having recently managed a national private client legal team, as well a broad range of experience in this field. Erika's clients include business owners, farmers, landed clients, as well as non doms and those owning assets abroad.
She regularly advises on tax efficient and flexible wills and other lifetime planning, often involving the use of trusts. She also has extensive experience in the administration of high value and complex death estates, and the appropriate use of post death variations.
Erika also acts as a professional deputy and alongside this, often advises on deputyships, applications to the Court of Protection, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Advance Decisions.
